Another Sunday Rolls Around….

Hello? It's me. Oh, there you are. This last week went by so fast, I could hardly believe it. I did talk to my two Harley riding buddies, TR and George, today. In about three weeks, we will be heading back to Ouray, Colorado. It's been a year since we have been there. The three of us were really kind of astonished with how swiftly the last year passed. Now George is older than TR and I, and he informed me this morning that the older you are, the faster the years go by. I know it's true with the toilet paper roll, and the last quarter of a gas tank. I've had a pretty good Sunday, so far. I took my darling neighbor, Mary, to Walmart. No surprises there. It was awfully hot here in West Texas, today. 100°+. She is so funny. She said "It's so hot, I wished it was winter again, so I could gripe about that." But we got our shopping done, everything put up, and I've had a kicked back Sunday afternoon, watching the Western Channel. The last 24 hours, it's been nonstop "Gunsmoke."

I've got a pretty big week ahead of me. I have to finish moving stuff, and getting my house ready to put on the market. I have to go get two new banners made, with my new waterfront house for sale website on them. We've had plenty of traffic at the lake the last couple of weekends, and if I hang those on each side of the house, and put an ad in the local newspaper, and a couple other places, I believe I'll get the word out. So basically, this coming week is just gonna be a grinder. But I can tell, I'm on the downhill side of this whole big mess. And yes, I did call it a mess. I'm a little ashamed of all the excess stuff I had managed to store away in this lovely shackle I have called home, for the last 24 years. As I unburden not only my possessions, but my life, I do feel lighter. Of course, this whole move, this whole new lifestyle of becoming a full-time RVer, revolves around my house selling. I know I have a nice place, in a nice location. It's just all the naysayers that have been saying the real estate market is dead. I hope not. Stick around, we're gonna find out.

Here's a couple of oldie-goldies. Some songs, I never get tired of.

Look how young
Van is here

My hometown buddy!

Thank you, my friends. I hope everyone has a simply marvelous week. I want to let my full-time friends know that I am just eaten alive with RV-envy. It won't be long before I'll be out there amongst you.

  2. Some homes sell some don't. Its what you expect to get that counts. I know a couple that just sold their house at half of what THEY thought they should get for it. It was a beautiful home but hey if you want to sell be real. Right? Anyway they are now living in their 5ver up here until Oct. then they will decide to buy or not. I love your place on the lake its a beauty. Good luck to you.

  3. Man, Marty Robbins. What an amazing voice. Good memories of records on the console record player and roasting hot dogs in the fire place!

  4. "Out in the West Texas town of El Paso, I fell in love with a mexican girl" ...Maybe someday I'll be 95 years old with stage 4 dementia...and I'll still remember these first words to this song.

  5. JoJo~ I just don't want to give it away. I have a cash offer....$100K less than I am asking. It came from 2 bankers! So, I figure my asking price is sound. (it's actually less than it would appraise for).

  6. Good for you, thats a beautiful spot and the lake is heaven right there at your back door. Bankers are not nice people sometimes, They know that house is worth much more.
