Fair warning, It's Patty Loveless day at RV0777

It looks like we made it to another Friday. Today I'm going to post some videos of who is probably my favorite female artist. I hooked onto her many years ago, when she recorded a song written by Billy Joe Shaver. This first one, she made with Ralph Stanley, the Bluegrass King. I have been watching this one over and over and have become strangely addicted to it .

That's right, Patty Loveless. You have probably never heard of her. She is absolutely my country music heroine. Maybe you'll remember this one, it's about getting over a heartbreak.

Here's one that she did with Ricky Skaggs. You know, he's pretty amazing himself.

Here's a couple with duet partner Vince Gill. It was through Patty Loveless that I became a fan of Vince Gill. It seems to me that their voices were made to be blended together.

Here's a few more random videos of Patty's. If you take the time to listen to them all, I'm sure you would become a fan of hers, just like I did. Remember, I warned you it was Patty Loveless day.

Are you still with me? I would say Patty comes from a background that would truly make her recording artist royalty. She's a distant cousin to Loretta Lynn and Crystal Gayle, and she's married to Emory Gordy, Jr. (click on his name for more information). If you would like to know a little more about Patty, click here.

You can rest assured that I am making some progress on my march towards realizing my dream. I've decided I don't want to lift and move heavy furniture, so I contacted a moving company today. The company is owned by my friend, so I'm getting a good deal. I just don't wear myself out when there are strong, professional men that will do this job for me. What can I say, they are professionals, and I am not.

Thank all of you so much for stopping by. I hope I didn't wear you out of the country music, and I also hope Patty has gained some new fans. If you listen to all of them, drop me a note and let me know.

  2. Wait!!! WHUT??? There are people out there who have never heard of Patty Loveless???? I would have listened to all of them, but my DSL and YouTube weren't co-operating. I added a few to my playlist at playlist.com, since you put me in the mood.
