Now A Proud Member of Hitchitch.com

I feel like I have made the BIG TIME. My blog has been picked up by Hitchitch.com. This is how I started my adventure....by reading about other full-timer RV blogs. Thanks Ron and Terry!!! Thank you, Maryanne. I am listed on her great site Frugal RV. These are great reference sources.

i'm getting ready to get ready..already

I have had a pretty good, productive week. My computers are up and running, crisis is over. The last couple of days I've been working on my house. I washed the whole shebang. I started at the top and washed the metal roof, which was a job in itself. As you can see in the pictures, it's a little steep and fatally slick. When it was being put on last year, two of the roofers slid off. Most of the job was done with a pressure washer, while the rest was done with a high-pressure nozzle on a regular hose. Here are a few of the pictures for you..

You wouldn't think spraying off the house would be all that much work, would you? I know it's been a few years since I worked on the construction sites, and yes I know, I'm not getting any younger. As you can see from the picture, it's quite a ways up there, to the peak of the roof. So I got on the next to the top step of the ladder, and blasted the smithereens out all the dirt, spiderwebs, and gunk. So I guess a couple of days of climbing ladders and stairwells , holding up a high-pressure sprayer will take its toll. Am I preaching to the choir?

I haven't heard from the moving guys yet, but if their bids are not low enough, I'm sure I can get it done. I really expected to be out there already. You know what I mean? I'm talking about actually fulfilling my RV dream. In my minds eye, I already see myself in a national forest campground, doing this blog, in the natural surrounding it deserves.  I have been trying to explain to myself, that everything happens when, and in the way, it is supposed to. I do feel like I'm making progress, which is the important thing. The anticipation is torture, though. I have looked at so many toy haulers, and still don't have my mind made up 100%. Seeing a picture on the Internet and then seeing it in person, is what I need, to make my decision. I think there's always a good deal out there, if you're willing to do the footwork. It's really the same way with life, isn't it?

Did you guys see the movie, Woodstock? Yeah? You remember when Joe Cocker singing "With a Little Help From My Friends?" Did you ever wonder what the heck the lyrics were? The code has finally been broken. Lyricosis fans, we have the true translation…

I always wondered
what he was saying

I always wondered what the heck those lyrics were. Nothing like the Beatles. I've worked hard today, I fixed myself a nice dinner, I'm relaxing in my living room, and even got my blog done. In the meantime, while marching towards my elusive dream of becoming a full-timer, life is sweet. It's a good thing I know that the only constant is change. Now you know it too. Thank you so much for stopping by.

  1. Good job Michael,
Yesterday I screened in the front of the porch and hung a curtain type screen door. Got tired of waiting for the guy to show up. Saved my self a few bucks for sure. And no more bees.

  2. Michael, Think of todays activities as a reintroduction to muscles you've long forgotten about. I'm sure they will reintroduce themselves in the next couple of days.

  3. You are a braver man than I GungiDin. I won't even consider getting up to wash my steel roof!! and mine ain't no where as steep as yours. Old age and less than perfect stability anymore keeps me off ladders and high places.

IF you're ready to haul butt,, where's your toy hauler?

  4. The Joe Cocker video CRACKED me up!

I've been on the road to this full timing journey for a loooooong time. Just yesterday, after looking at the eleventy1111 zillionth RV (ok, that's just how it feels)I was wondering if the POWERS THAT BE were trying to tell me something... But, I couldn't figure out the where, what, why and how of that. So I'm going to look at another one today.

  5. Your house is lovely, and I think it won't be long before someone takes over your shackles for you. I hear the lovely shackle market is improving!

Finding the right RV is sort of like finding the right job. There's no slope approaching success; you don't have it, and then you do.

  6. Impressive accomplishments today!

Boy, the waiting is always the hard part, isn't it? There's a reason for it, of course, but sometimes even that awareness doesn't help !

Beautiful home! But nature is even better. You are going to be SO happy out in it full time!

  11. Yesterday, I went down the list in made a personal comment to each of you. And then, blogger ate my homework. Honest. When I tried to post, my own blog wouldn't let me in and deleted my comment. How frustrating. So, let's try again.
Jojo~thank you for the words of encouragement. They really do mean a lot.

John~you're not kidding! Yesterday I hurt in places that I'd forgotten I even had.

Ben~Gunga Din? I like it. Seriously though, it took all my nerve to get up on that dripping ladder.

Cyndi~the video was a hoot, wasn't it? Also, looking for the right RV is addictive. I'll know it when I see it, though!

Roxanne~you made me LOL. The marketplace for lovely shackles is improving. I have worried about the condition of the real estate market, believe me.And, the words of encouragement are priceless.

Kris~thank you, my friend. Something I have never gotten used to waiting...and I love the prophecy at the end of your comment. nature wins, hands down.

Gypsy~I think you're the only one that picked up on lyricosis. Isn't that translation hilarious?

Thanks Ben for the followers report. I have mine back this morning. Jojo, your's are showing there, too.
