Come and Let Us Ponder Together

In an ongoing effort to sell my house and move on out of here, I showed it to my first prospective buyers, this morning. After their viewing, I asked the wife how she liked it. She said that she had a lot of deep thinking to do. That kind of thinking always gets me in trouble. It's Sunday afternoon, and I couldn't sit still. I really didn't want to do any deep thinking, today, so I will just share some things I found on YouTube last night. These really are two of my favorite artists, and I think you will enjoy them, too....

                                                     Ponder on This!!

I've got to admit, I just love that Johnny Cash. I really like the message in the first one 'I wonder where I am bound'. I do wonder where I'm bound. I'm pretty sure it's in the direction of full time RV'ing. Let me that my favorite Canadian girl explain something to you. You have to watch to the end of the video to understand what I'm talking about...

I have to admit, I love me some Joni Mitchell, too. Does it get any better than this? Yes! Here are the two of them together...my, my, my....

It looks to me like Johnny was a bit smitten with Joni. I think I was, too. I am so proud to be from an era that produced those two. If you love this kind of music, we are going to get along just fine. It's a funny thing about music, it draws the line and we do the dance. What I mean is, sort of like politics and religion, music has a way of defining who a person is. I try not to judge styles of music that I don't care for, because this is still America. (I have zero tolerance for gangsta' rap). I tend to gravitate towards blues, gospel, country, and rock 'n roll. As in the case for religion and politics, everyone has their own opinion.
I do recognized talent and truth and good performances. Like these two....

I sure hope everyone of you has a fantastic day today. I sure have enjoyed your visit. Thank You!

Michael

  1. That's one young Joni. And Harry Chapin, too. I love these old archival videos. I think one of my favorite Johnny Cash songs is "I Still Miss Someone." Something about those leaves falling....

    Thanks for these, Michael!

  3. Your house is a dream, Michael. It shows your love and care! The views are phenomenal and it is worth every penny of your asking price, if not more.

I have a hunch about the wife's response. It's a very masculine home (a GREAT thing!), and she is probably thinking of how she could feminize it a bit.

I actually have a suggestion or two, even though you didn't ask. I hope I am not out of line.

Is there a way to brighten up the fireplace insert? Heat-resistant paint or maybe wax or polish? It is such a focal point that a little bit of sparkle would go a long way. I am speaking as a giant girl, here....

The second thing is, when people come in to view a home they are considering buying, they like to imagine what their things would look like there. It helps to remove absolutely everything you can possible remove--both decorative and functional items. Looking at a fully furnished and decorated house can be a distraction for prospective buyers. Let the bones of the home show through, and allow the buyer to imagine themselves in the space. If you do remove things, you could update your pictures.

Here's hoping that the the perfect situation arises! Boy, if I had the money, I would buy it in a minute and spend my evenings by the lake, in bliss!!!

  4. Thank you Kris, I will take your suggestions. Did you listen to the last video, Going by the Book? Just curious what your thoughts are.

  5. I love both of these artists. Joni can't hit the high notes anymore, but her voice is still a treasure.
