Let the Rain Come.....(PLEASE!!)

For the first time since October of last year, Lubbock has a chance for rain. Last night, the weather-casters gave us a 60% chance of rain. This morning, they decided it was 50%, and this afternoon they pegged it at 30%. Who knows, we may just get some rain. In anticipation, I built myself a new Texas rain gauge. You can't be too careful, you know? Here's a picture of my new gauge.

In all honesty, the sky is clear except for a tiny hint of clouds, way off in the West. I don't want the sky to be clear, I want the sky to be crying.(Now tell me you didn't see this coming)

I have serious doubts we're going to get any rain, but we can hope, can't we?

As always, thank you so much for stopping by. You're as welcome here as a sweet rain on a hot summer afternoon.

  2. This can act as a sort of rain dance, rain music. I will play it and send along a Great Knowing that you Will get rain, and more than a thimble full. This evening, when the earth will hold it better.

  5. Texas rain gauge - har! How long has this drought been going on? It was scary here in Florida, but the drought here has finally broken.

Now I want my screen name to be Sweet Rain!

  8. Hi Michael: I'm seeing towering cumulous and hearing thunder far off north/northwest... maybe as S'nAngelo, maybe more Brady/LLano. Hope it's up your way. I can't tell it's moving this way but at least there's a cooler wind coming out of the south.

Run that thimble over and sent the runoff this way.

  10. I thought I heard you had lots of rain. I hope I heard that right. We got hit good today. But now I need to get that guy who installed the new old awning. I was told it was going to be new. It wasn't. Hate hassles. BUT!! he will get one.

  12. Jo and Bob~Something must have worked. We got 1.1 inches last night. That is more total than for the whole year put together. Dry? Yep!

  17. I'm 68 and a neighbor two doors down is 80 ... we decided we'd run in the streets in our red bikinis if it rained and so it didn't and then realized that might be the wrong thing to send out into the Universe so we decided to just run out in the rain in our peddle pushers and flops and it rained.

Just thought I'd let you know that
